Overview of the Association of Christian Schools International

Who is ACSI? Headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado, ACSI is a Christian educational organization that advances excellence in Christian schools by enhancing the professional and personal development of Christian educators and providing vital support functions for Christian schools.

ACSI’s Mission is to strengthen Christian schools and equip Christian educators worldwide as they prepare students academically and inspire them to become devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

ACSI’s Vision remains the same since our founding in 1978:

  • to become a leading international organization that promotes Christian education and provides training and resources to Christian schools and Christian educators. 

Our goal is to assist and encourage by developing:  

  • Schools that contribute to the public good through effective teaching and learning and that are biblically sound, academically rigorous, socially engaged, and culturally relevant; and
  • Educators who embody a biblical worldview, engage in transformational teaching and discipling, and embrace personal and professional growth.

What does ACSI do? Under a Strategic Plan characterized by three foundational pillars of Advancing, Access, and Advocacy, ACSI offers multiple services, including:

  • School accreditation, teacher and administrator certification, and increasingly important legal/ legislative issues.
  • Purposeful Design Publications, a division of ACSI, develops academically rigorous, biblically based K-12 textbooks.

ACSI helps more than 5.5 million students worldwide connect to Christian education through our efforts to strengthen Christian schools and equip Christian educators.

  • Schools (benefits include advocacy, legal counsel, career center, networking events, leader consultation).
  • International (benefits include international conferences, career center, and pre-field orientation).
  • Early Education (benefits include professional development conferences and webinars with national experts and access to the career center).
  • Higher Education (benefits include connection with Christian school students and educators seeking postsecondary study).
  • Individual (benefits include webinars, professional development resources, and community collaboration with other educators).

How many members does ACSI have?

  • Approximately 2,200 member schools (preschool to grade 12) in the United States.
  • More than 3,000 Global and 160 international member schools (preschool to grade 12).
  • An additional 25,000 Christian schools served across the globe through its services and resources.
  • 60 member Christian colleges and universities.

What services does ACSI offer members?

  • A broad range of services, including:
    1. legal/legislative advocacy and support,
    2. numerous respected accreditation protocols,
    3. certification, 
    4. an active career center,
    5. networking events,
    6. an online school directory for parents of prospective students,
    7. consultation for school leaders and boards,
    8. a full-service student assessment program, and
    9. collaborative Community space to engage with their global peers
    10. Student Leadership & Learning provides students with enrichment and experiential events beyond the classroom.
